About John Gagnon
John Gagnon, known throughout the Northeast as the Dogman®, has been training dogs full time since 1994. The inspiration that started this unique Connecticut dog kennel was his desire to reduce the number of healthy dogs killed in Connecticut pounds, currently 15,000 annually. Finding dogs homes is a great effort taken on by many, but does not begin to address two primary root problems. Many people give up their dogs simply because they do not know how to train them, and there are too many pets that are not spayed or neutered, creating a gross over population. As long as pets are not spayed or neutered, this will always be the case. Rescue organizations and Veterinarians from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Maine, and New Hampshire regularly call on John for his experience and expertise.

Dog Training
Training is much more than practicing a series of learning exercises with your dog. Training your dog means developing your relationship and communication together. Here at the resort, we teach dogs through behavior management and positive reinforcement. While we do not focus on punishing behaviors that we don't want, we do ensure that those behaviors are not rewarding for the dog. Proper socialization is also a very big, and often overlooked, factor in your dogs training.

Canine Nutrition
We offer four different kibble recipes including an extremely popular holistic blend. Also Chicken, Lamb, and a weight management. The Oma's Pride raw blends are nutritionally balanced and complete for your pet's health. Primary recipes include Beef, Lamb, Chicken, and Turkey. Other recipes will be mixed in from time to time.
